Spur the Word
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”-Hebrews 10:23-25
Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a pick me up or a that a boy! Through the Edge’s “Spur the Word” encouragement program you have the opportunity to encourage others as well as be encouraged. Here’s how it works...
Send us your name and physical address, in return we will send you the address of the person you have been asked to encourage. No name or additional information will be sent. Next, grab a small card or sheet of paper and write a quick note of encouragement to you the person of the address you have been given. As for the title on the envelope just write, Spur the Word. It is up to you if you would like to sign your name or give your return address, don’t feel obligated to do so. We ask that when you send in your address you make the commitment of sending a note once every 2 weeks to the person you are matched with. As for your address, it will be sent on to another person who has sent in their address. So check your mail box and expect to receive an encouraging note.
The purpose of this program is to build each other up in the name of Jesus. There is so much negativity in the world it is nice to hear a kind word.
Spur the Word may help keep accountable, get you through a rough time, or simply put a smile on your face. It’s a way to give, receive, and most importantly be encouraged!
